The Shoestring Magic Flute

Based on Mozart’s famous opera, Shoestring Opera presents

the story of Allegra, lost in a dark forest on her way home from school.  Enter Papageno, a feathered birdcatcher pursued by a Dragon -- and the fun and adventure and glorious singing begin!  Together they discover why Papageno has a padlock on his mouth and what they have to learn before they can find their way out of the forest.  Featuring two singer-actors, a cellist, a pianist and Mozart’s beautiful music this is an ideal child’s introduction to the joy of opera.

-The show runs 45 minutes and is followed by Q and A.
-Teacher Guides are available upon request.

-Maternelle-jardin à 8è̀me année

Bozo’s Fortune

Bozo’s Fortune, based on Puccini’s comic opera Gianni Schicchi, is a wickedly funny fable about greedy relatives trying to overturn a will and the trickster who outwits them all. Rich old Uncle Bozo has died and left his fortune to...a cat shelter! The relatives are outraged. Much against their will, they ask Johnny Schicchi, an immigrant and an outsider, to find a way to return Bozo’s fortune to his family. But Johnny is too smart for them. In an action-packed farce that features clowning, puppetry and lush music, prejudice is exposed, avarice is punished and love is triumphant!
